Bridget grew up knowing she wanted to work in medicine. She studied at the University of Sydney, completing her medical degree with Honours. She survived physician training at Westmead Hospital. Her respiratory training followed at Westmead and Gosford. She has been consulting in Bathurst since 2019.
Bridget sees a broad range of respiratory conditions — asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and other lung diseases. She is a member of the Western NSW Thoracic Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, which means her patients with lung cancer are discussed and managed by a coordinated group of specialists, not a single clinician working in isolation.
Dr Elbourne's approach is direct and unhurried. She takes the time to explain what is happening in terms that make sense.
