Daniel Googe

Respiratory Technician

ANZSRS Member

Daniel Googe is the respiratory technician at Gilmour Street Specialists, responsible for conducting the lung function tests that form a critical part of respiratory assessment at the practice.

He trained onsite under the practice's previous technicians and completed additional training at Dubbo Base Hospital under their respiratory scientist — a grounding in real clinical environments that shapes how he works with patients today. He is currently studying Exercise and Sports Science at Charles Sturt University, and is an active participant in the ANZSANZ mentoring program, which connects emerging respiratory scientists with experienced practitioners across Australia and New Zealand. He is a current member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS).

Daniel conducts regular quality control to ensure every test meets the current recommendations of the relevant scientific societies. For patients, this means the results Dr Elbourne receives are accurate, consistent, and clinically meaningful.

Lung function testing can feel unfamiliar — some of the breathing manoeuvres require effort and can catch people off guard. Daniel is aware of this and takes a calm, unhurried approach with every patient, making sure the testing process is as comfortable as possible without compromising the quality of the results.

On-site Lung Function Testing

Spirometry and lung function testing is conducted on-site by our respiratory technician. Dr Elbourne encourages lung function testing prior to referral for consultation.

She aims to provide useful reports with suggestions for management or further investigation.
